Does the lecture contain any mention of using a novel drug delivery system in Ayurvedic medicines and increasing the efficacy of the drugs? This technology is gaining prominence worldwide but is yet to find its takers in India. Back here, where the ’science of life’ originated, purists are not so kicked up about the marriage of technology and tradition. Exceptions prove the rule :) please read our blog for details.

The focus of the presentation was on core principles of Ayurveda and their application for determining individual constitutions and maintaining optimal health. The emphasis was not on Ayurvedic herbs. Herbs are important, however if the root cause of the problem is not removed and lifestyle/dietary modifications are not implemented – herbs will not be as effective.

I was unable to access your blog. What do you mean by a novel drug delivery system? Sounds like Western medicine concepts implemented for Ayurvedic herbs.

You’re right. This is probably the first time it is being implemented in Ayurveda, and that too in India. Novel drug delivery is basically a unique drug delivery system that increases the efficacy of the drug by bypassing the metabolic process. We have developed a poly herbal mouth dissolving tablet called Res-Q for respiratory distress mainly asthma. It dissolves within 4 to 6 minutes of putting in the mouth and goes straight to the lungs where its herbal ingredients work on the choked airways to impart fast relief. if regularly taken, it can result in less congestion of the airways, resulting in effective asthma management.
